‘The Essence of a Puss Moth’ (left) and ‘The Essence of Iridescence - Scarlet Tiger Moth’ are new works in my moth series. A picture of the puss moth is in the artist's directory section of Aesthetica magazine of Art & Culture, Feb / Mar 2011. This magazine is stocked in the Serpentine, Tate Modern, Tate Britain and the National Portrait Gallery, as well as W.H.Smith and other newsagents.
January 2011

I took part for the first time in the Saatchi ‘Showdown’, an online tournament where artists can showcase their work and go head-to-head with other artists, giving the winner a chance to display their art at the Saatchi Gallery in London. I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, but sadly my picture ‘Loop the Loop’ was not shortlisted in the 126 for the final voting; however, at one point I was standing at 952 out of 4494, so I was pleased with that. Final voting is on 20th January. It was good fun taking part, and also an opportunity for networking and seeing other peoples' artwork.
December 2010

Despite the freezing weather conditions I was eventually able to deliver my artworks for the ‘Contemporary Art for Christmas’ show to the Lloyd Gill Gallery in Weston-super-Mare.

I attended the private view on Saturday 11th December. The gallery has a warm, friendly welcoming atmosphere and has a range of paintings, prints and photography on show. Weston-Super-Mare is in the middle of a big renovation programme. View from Weston-super-Mare's new pier are below.

June 2010

‘A Dragonfly and A Raindrop’ - featuring in the ‘Nature in Art’ June newsletter is this picture of ‘A Dragonfly with A Raindrop’ that will be one of the new works in the ‘Pond Life’ series showing in the ‘Above Beneath Beyond’ exhibition.

‘Arab Horse’ & ‘A Shrine to Sun Ra’ - almost complete now, Sun Ra needs the door re-attached onto the medicine cabinet and the Arab Horse needs some more detail to create a more atmospheric desert look.
February 2010

I am working on two commissions at the moment, ‘Arab Horse’ and ‘Shrine to Sun Ra’. My clients have been very patient and these pieces are to be finished as soon as possible.
A Shrine to Sun Ra
This commission is unusual, as I have been asked to make a ‘shrine’ in dedication to this great musician; I am painting images on the underside of the glass of an antiquated metal medicine cabinet, while retaining the rustic patina of the cabinet.
