I am an artist & designer, located in beautiful mid-Wales, in the upper Wye Valley and near to the Elan Valley reservoirs. I produce a wide range of both abstract and representational works, and also work as a freelance teacher and mentor.
Living in a rural area for most of my life, nature's forms and colours have always been important influences on my work, though this is not always revealed in an obvious manner.
On this site you can view examples of my work for exhibition, commissions, outdoor public art and greetings cards. I use a wide range of materials in my work, including oils, acrylic, glass, reclaimed windows, mirrors, pebbles, slate and other mixed media, much of it being reclaimed and recycled from its previous uses, something which I always do as much as is practical.
I am currently producing new work for an exhibition and ‘Artist in Residence’ at Nature in Art, Wallsworth Hall, Twigworth, Gloucestershire later in 2010. The exhibition, named ‘Above Beneath Beyond’, is a collaboration with two of my friends, Kate Hammersley and Kathy Packwood, and I am looking forward to returning to this wonderful venue. For more information on the exhibition and the venue, please look at my Exhibitions page.
Examples of my work can also be seen on the Axis website.
June 2010
‘A Dragonfly and A Raindrop’ - featuring in the ‘Nature in Art’ June newsletter is this picture of ‘A Dragonfly with A Raindrop’ that will be one of the new works in the ‘pond life’ series showing in the ‘Above Beneath Beyond’ exhibition. Details opposite.

‘Arab Horse’ & ‘A Shrine to Sun Ra’ - almost complete now, Sun Ra needs the door re-attached onto the medicine cabinet and the Arab Horse needs some more detail to create a more atmospheric desert look.

February 2010
I am working on two commissions at the moment, ‘Arab Horse’ and ‘Shrine to Sun Ra’. My clients have been very patient and these pieces are to be finished as soon as possible.
A Shrine to Sun Ra

This commission is unusual, as I have been asked to make a ‘shrine’ in dedication to this great musician; I am painting images on the underside of the glass of an antiquated metal medicine cabinet, while retaining the rustic patina of the cabinet.
